Haiku Aotearoa 2008, a conference
for writers of haiku and related forms, takes place at Bishop Julius
Hostel, 90 Waimairi Road, Ilam, Christchurch, New Zealand, on the weekend of 18 - 20th April,
2008. The venue is a modern student hostel, with lovely gardens and an adjacent park, handy to Christchurch Airport. The Small White Teapot Group have created a programme
to appeal to beginners and experts alike. Please see the programme for details.
The public is invited to the launch of the "the taste of nashi", an anthology of New Zealand haiku, published by Windrift haiku group of Wellington at 7 pm, Saturday 19th April. Admission is free and all are welcome.
This will be followed by Richard von Sturmer’s Tanka Film presentation at 8pm. Richard is a well-known writer and Zen practitioner who has been active in the New Zealand performance scene for a long time. All welcome. Admission $22. There is no need to book.
